In 1996, a small prayer gathering in Brooklyn became the beginning of a ministry with a heart for the nations.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry International began when fifteen to twenty Jamaican migrants gathered in a Brooklyn home to pray for revival in Jamaica. Founded by Rev. Newton Gabbidon, the ministry grew from a shared burden for spiritual renewal and national healing.
A calling that grew
Over time, that burden expanded from Jamaica to the nations. Through church partnerships, gatherings, teaching, and united prayer, IPMI has served pastors, intercessors, ministry leaders, and diaspora communities.
Today the ministry connects people from more than forty nations around Christ-centred, Scripture-rooted intercession. Collaboration, excellence, and integrity remain central to the work.
Continuing the story
The Annual Prayer Breakfast, Global Prayer Summit, Pastors and Leaders Prayer Symposium, Schools of Prayer, Global Prayer Calls, and other initiatives offer different ways to participate in the same calling.
